Casa Paleologu has always been a privileged place of intellectual discussions and friendships. The house on 34, Armeneasca str. was built in 1932 by Mihail Paleologu and Emilia, his third wife, after they were forced to sell the old tall house on Paleologu street, erected during the first half of the 20th century by the serdar Nicolae Paleologu, the son of the “medelnicer” Mihail Paleologu. The house on Armeneasca street is a comfortable bourgeois building in the cubist style of the 30s, but the furniture and the atmosphere bear the mark of aristocratic manors.

Der Verein „casApold“ wurde 2007 in Trappold gegründet und hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, sich aktiv in die lokale und regionale rumänische Zivilgesellschaft einzubringen und sie im gemeinnützigen und nachhaltigen Sinne mitzugestalten. Dabei stehen Aktivitäten, die zur Verbesserung des Bildungs- und Kulturangebotes auf dem Land beitragen, im Vordergrund. Seit der Gründung wurden außerschulische Bildungsprogramme für Kinder und Jugendliche durchgeführt, u.a. eine tägliche „After-School“ (Hort) seit 2009 eingerichtet und Umweltcamps organisiert. Die Arbeit von casApold wurde bereits von CORONA Berlin e.V., dem Mihai Eminescu Trust, der Fundatia pentru Parteneriat (RO) und der Romenie Comitee Diest (BL) unterstützt.

Die Firma ABF Architekturbüro Fabini wurde im Mai 1990 gegründet. Ursprünglich war sie ein Kleinunternehmen - eine Form von Privatunternehmen, die damals nach der Wende von 1989 möglich wurde - und ab 1991 eine GmbH ( rumänisch SRL). Inhaber der Firma sind Alida und Hermann Fabini. Sie hat ihren Sitz in Räumen im ersten Stock des Kirchenhauses Wiesengasse (Tipografilor) Nr. 12. Schwerpunkt der Tätigkeit sind vor allem denkmalpflegerische Restaurierungsprojekte; unsere Firma hat aber in den letzten Jahren zunehmend auch Neu- und Industriebauten geplant.

Die damit verbundenen Auseinandersetzungen um verschiedene Nutzungsansprüche an den Boden, die Natur, Gebäude, Anlagen oder Finanzmittel schaffen Anlass und Arbeitsfelder für die Stadt- und Regionalplanung. Das Institut für Stadt- und Regionalplanung (ISR) an der Technischen Universität Berlin ist mit Forschung und Lehre in diesem Spannungsfeld tätig.

The “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urban Planning in Bucharest is the oldest and most important academic institution in this field in Romania. It continues a long tradition of local architectural higher education, the foundation of which is closely linked with the rise of modern Romania and the setting of its new institutional structure and culture, during the second half of the 19th century.
